Submitting Non-Standard Sample Materials and Sizes for Testing

Submitting Smaller than 12 x 12 inch Samples for Testing
The following only applies to testing of smaller than 12 x 12 inch rigid samples such as composite tiles and Research & Development materials.

If your samples are smaller than 12 x 12 inch, then please submit them mounted within a Ballistic Drop-in Frame Fixture like the one shown in the illustration below. The Ballistic Drop-in Frame Fixture provides support for the samples so that they can be tested in our 12 x 12 inch testing rig.

Upon completion of the tests both your frames and samples will be returned back to you.

Submitting Non-Rigid Samples for Testing
The following only applies to testing of non-rigid type samples such as those composed of loose fabric or other flexible materials.

If your samples are non-rigid in nature, then please submit them mounted within a Ballistic Picture Frame Fixture like the one shown in the illustration below. The Ballistic Picture Frame Fixture provides added stiffness to the sample material such that it will not become dislodged during the ballistic test. Please indicate on the samples which side is the impact side.

Upon completion of the tests both your frames and samples will be returned back to you.
